Chlorophytum, commonly known as the Spider plant, is, without doubt, one of the most adaptable, easiest to grow plants. The chlorophytum are species of perennial flowering plants, native to tropical and southern Africa. They are named spider plants because their leaves - resembling the spider legs, dangle down from the mother plant like spiders on a web. They may be available in green or variegated varieties, these spiderettes often start our small white flowers.
They are wonderful house plants, that go a long way when taken care of. Easy to maintain, spider plants have bushy, bright green leaves, that are perfect for new plant keepers as well. They are NASA certified and known to purify the indoor air, as they absorb the harmful gases present in the atmosphere like Benzene, Xylene, Formaldehyde, etc present in the indoor spaces due to paints, fabrics, furnishings, and several other things present around. They do well in both hanging and tabletop setups
